Disclosure
Specyfy Water is an independent referral service. We do not carry out water extraction, drying, cleanup or repair work ourselves, and we are not a contractor. What you send through this site is passed to an independent service provider so that they can reply to you. Licensing and registration requirements for restoration work differ by state and by city, and we do not verify them on your behalf.
What we are
Specyfy Water is an independent referral service. When you send a request through this site, it goes to an independent service provider who covers the ZIP code you entered, so that they can contact you about it.
What we are not
We are not a contractor and we do not carry out water extraction, drying, cleanup or repair work. We do not employ technicians. We do not verify the licensing, registration, insurance or qualifications of the providers a request is passed to — requirements differ by state and by city, and checking them is worth doing yourself.
We do not publish customer reviews, ratings, awards or badges on this site, and we do not use photographs presented as our own staff or our own work.
How we are paid
Nothing is charged to you. This site is built to be paid by the providers who receive requests from it. At the time of writing no such arrangement is in place and no phone network is connected; if that changes, this page changes with it.
About the information on this site
Figures and guidance are attributed on the page where they appear, with links to the original source. They are general information about water damage, not advice about your building, your insurance policy or your health. Where a figure comes from a single source, we say so rather than presenting it as a consensus.
Where federal guidance says a task should not be done without a qualified person — electrical work in standing water, suspected gas leaks, structural damage — this site repeats that and does not offer an alternative.
